When the upper teeth are not wide enough to touch the outside of the lower teeth.  Difficult to bring together.  Lower teeth may have to shift to one side.



When upper teeth are too far in front of the lower teeth.  If amount is severe, the front teeth may be subject to injury & speech may be effected/affected.



When the upper teeth are not in front of the lower teeth.  This makes it difficult to cut the food & causes premature wear of the back teeth.




This type of bite makes normal movement of the jaw more difficult & may cause premature wear of the front teeth.



When the front teeth do not touch.  Incising or cutting foods may be difficult or impossible.  Because the back teeth are always touching they are subject to premature wear.  This bite also causes speech & tongue thrusting problems during swallowing.
